Trying Something New

Well–here we are. A new week, a new day–a time to try something new. So, today, I am determined to give my attitude/lifestyle a new spin. I am going to finish getting rid of what we don’t use. Start trying to teach the boys more stuff and playing with them more, be better about personal hygiene, and much more.

So, today, I am going to start using my contacts that I ordered not too long ago. I got them super cheap and haven’t really been using them so, today we’ll try it out.

See, a couple weeks ago, I finally got frustrated that I was feeling crumby all the time. I would have an upset stomach, really groggy, and feel like I should’ve been on some kind of drugs or something. I felt horrible and really depressed. So, I finally got the guts up to try and cut dairy and gluten out of my diet. I started feeling so much better the next day. I felt great two weeks ago. Last week, I just ate whatever I wanted to. Monday, I felt good when I started monitoring what I ate again. Yesterday, I ate poptarts and they gave me horrible stomach cramps. So, today, we’re back at the gluten free eating diet.  Had a delicious green smoothie and feeling great. Dairy seems to be fine but, gluten seems to hate me. So, we’ll see how this goes.

  1. I went gluten and dairy free for several months before pregnancy (and morning sickness) cut out most of what were viable foods under that regimen. After months of eating whatever and feeling not super, I’m excited to be returning to having fewer foods available to eat but feeling much, much better overall . . . so much better that than feeling crappy for a few bites of tasty but body-wracking foods! I’m sure I’ll feel grumpy about it during the adjustment, but I’m just as sure it’s worth it. 🙂
